George loved Lennie and Lennie loved George. No one understood their friendship so George had to give Lennie a fast quick death before everyone else tries to hurt him. However, this is a terrible end with good intentions. May i remind everyone Lennie is not a dog. We can NOT just take a grown man "out back" and shoot him to "put him out of his misery". The end of this book is dehumanizing. I understand its supposed to be a good gesture of protection, but its unacceptable in my eyes. you'd be better off letting him run, because then it's not on your heart, conscience, and mind.
